Family Leguminosae Mimosoideae. From very remote times, the indigenous inabitants of various parts of South America have been aware of the hallucinogenic properties of diverse species of the genus Anadenanthera as the seeds contains various tryptamine analogues. Seeds of this species were once employed as a snuff in pre-Columbian times. 1 gram = 6 seeds approx (not all seed maybe viable)

Argemone mexicana has many medicinal uses: It has been used as an anesthetic for surgery; It has been used to treat cancer, the common cold, fever, inflammation, and toothache. This poppies chemical constituents include protopine, berberine, and several isoquinilines. It has been ritualistically used as a smudging herb.
